Head Herdperson sought for Lanarkshire dairy farm

New Year, New Job? Head Herdsperson required!

Required for a 300 cow dairy unit near Biggar, South Lanarkshire. The herd is fully housed, calved AYR and milked through a 32:32 rapid exit parlour. Replacements are home reared with beef calves sold at 3-5 weeks.

The ideal candidate must be willing to get involved with all aspects of the herd on a day to day basis with an emphasis on herd health and welfare.

They should have experience of Uniform Agri software and be proficient at Artificial insemination as well as being able to operate a telehandler.

Reliability and a willingness to take responsibility is key for this role.
Training in house and through third parties will be provided where required to allow the candidate to grow into a highly valued member of the team.
