Dairy Calf & Youngstock Health training course

Give your calves the best possible start with Ark Vet Centre’s Foundations of Dairy Calf & Youngstock Health training course.

This practical five-week programme is designed for everyone involved in rearing dairy calves and youngstock, providing the knowledge and skills to improve calf health, maximise heifer performance and build productive, resilient dairy cows for the future.

Delivered by experienced farm animal vets through a mix of classroom and on-farm sessions, the course covers everything from newborn calf management and colostrum to housing, feeding, disease prevention and weaning.

Running on Tuesdays from 22 September to 20 October 2026, with sessions from 10am–1pm, it’s designed to fit around the working day. The full five-session course costs £500 and takes place at Ark Vet Centre, Lockerbie, with local farm visits. Places are limited, so book early to secure your place and invest in the future of your herd.
