A keen, enthusiastic person is sought to work alongside the owner on a 180 cow dairy unit in Midlothian. The Pedigree Holstein Friesian herd currently achieves around 10,500 l’s, is calved AYR and milked through a 16:32 parlour. The role would involve milking, proactive cow health and welfare and general stock tasks. Basic tractor and machinery skills are required. The ideal candidate will have:
Relevant milking experience
Artificial insemination and foot trimming skills advantageous
Good interpersonal skills
Happy to work alone or as a team member
The role involves:
Milking cows alone
Keeping the cows accommodation clean and tidy
Maintaining a clean parlour and dairy
Changing liners in clusters
Relief cow feeding, bedding and calf feeding
Helping out at silage and harvest when required (desirable)
In return you will receive:
