I’m extremely pleased to announce the opening of our Cumbria Maker Space at the Appleby Creamery. This has taken many months of planning, and a few headaches caused by the logistics of sourcing specialist equipment from across Europe! For anyone interested in cheese-making or existing dairy-based food businesses looking to experiment or up-scale, this is the venue for you.

The team also had the difficult job of reaching out to those who were unsuccessful in their application to the Collaborative R&D Competition run by Innovate UK. Although we’d love to have had a larger allocation of competition funding to award more projects, this was only the first round of the competition with more details on the 2024 funding coming later this year.
