We are looking for a calm and enthusiastic person to join our family farm in January next year. We have an established flock of 300 Lacaune ewes we are lambing at the end of January inside and plan to trial a new system next year to keep the lambs with their mothers until weaning with the aim of moving to an Organic system over the next few years. All the milk is used to make award winning cheese on the farm.
We are also planning to trial a small flock of dairy goats in order to fill up the gap in the year when the sheep are dried off (Sept-January).
High animal welfare, biosecurity, clean working methods, record keeping and attention to detail are essential as well as the ability to work in harmony with others.
Duties will include:
3-4 Bedroom House available if required and salary dependent on experience. Please email your CV to enquiries@erringtoncheese.co.uk or call Andrew on 07875 677464
We will also be looking for part time assistance with milking and in the dairy making cheese next year, so please get in touch if interested
