The course covers all critical areas of modern day dairy farming and will focus on providing management tools and knowledge which can be utilised on a day to day basis to achieve best practise, using a mixture of classroom based theory and on-farm practical demonstrations and exercises.
Each of the 6 modules provides focused and comprehensive best practice training within dairy farming with the aim of providing a complete dairy training programme:
Course starts:
Module 1: Cow Nutrition, Diet Formulation and Margin Generation - 10th & 11th October 2023
Module 2: Heifer Rearing and Transition Cow Management - 7th & 8th November 2023
Module 3: Financial Management and Dairy Farm Economics - 5th & 6th December 2023
Module 4: Fertility, Mastitis & Lameness - 16th & 17th January 2024
Module 5: Forage Management and Utilisation- 12th & 13th March 2024
Module 6: Business Development and Management - 17th & 18th April 2024
(Please note there will be no delivery in February 2024 and there may be some minor amendments to the course content ahead of the new academic year.)

The course will be assessed on a modular basis. This will be based upon short answer written assessments and calculations.
This is a non-accredited course delivered to a Level 4 standard.
The course is recognised by Dairy Pro for CPD allocation. If you attend and are a Dairy Pro Member you will be able to add your own attendance via the Dairy pro portal.
