Reducing waste from the dairy manufacturing sector
The dairy sector has been identified as one of the largest contributors to food waste from manufacturing. It is estimated that waste in the dairy sector may cost companies up to 4% of turnover.
In order to help small and medium sized dairy businesses prevent waste and reduce costs, Resource Efficient Scotland have launched a free, practical service.
We offer free on-site food waste prevention audits to small and medium sized businesses manufacturing cheese, butter, ice cream, milk, yoghurt and other dairy products.
These free audits identify waste hot spots and offer costed solutions.
Resource Efficient Scotland can provide your business with the following:
A free audit to identify food waste hot spots (whey, spoilage …)
Free advice to reduce or prevent waste and save money
Free advice on new technologies and good practice to reduce food waste
Access to the Waste Implementation Fund to support the purchase of new waste prevention technology
all with the aim of reducing your dairy’s food waste costs.
If your dairy is interested in taking part in this free project, please call 0141 227 2302 or email: alex.fintoni@resourcefficientscotland.com.
