Honours project collaboration
My name is Mollie Penfold, and I am a Zoology student at the University of the West of Scotland and currently preparing to begin my Honours research project.
My study explores whether different genres of music can influence milk production in dairy cows. The project will run for around four months, with selected playlists played during milking sessions. All music will fall within tempo ranges considered safe and non-stressful for cattle and should not reduce production rates. A YouTube Premium account and set playlists will be provided.
Participation would involve sharing anonymous weekly and monthly milk yield data throughout the trial period. Any observed behavioural changes in the cows would also be valuable to the research.
Participation is entirely voluntary and farms may withdraw at any time, with all data removed upon request.
If you would be open to participating or would like more information before deciding, I would be very happy to discuss the project further. Please contact me via email at B01640294@studentmail.uws.ac.uk or text me on 07951657328. You can also contact my project supervisor Dr James Turner at james.turner@uws.ac.uk.
