The farm and the job
The job would suit someone who has already got experience or looking to develop their experience in managing cows on a low input spring calving grazing system. We run a herd of 200 British Friesians milked through a 13/26 parlour. The herd is due to start calving from February on a 12 week block. The cows are rotationally grazed from Feb/Mar with the majority of their milk produced from grazed grass. DIY ai and hooftrimming are carried out on farm. Agrinet, Uniform, Sensehub heat detection and a drafting gate are all in place to help manage the cows. The grazing platform in fully cow tracked with electric fencing in place to keep the cows going on top quality grass.
