We are looking for a dairyperson or someone who can support and develop into the role to join our high performing family dairy business, Nr Annan, Dumfriesshire.
We milk 470 Holstein cows averaging 11,000 litres twice a day with 350 head of youngstock and heifers calving in at 24 months. We strive to achieve excellent cow performance and efficiency through attention to detail in areas including health, fertility and feeding.
You will be working closely on a day-to-day basis with the rest of our family and team focusing on cow welfare, fertility and milk quality along with the associated record keeping and data analysis.
You will receive extensive support from our vet and consultant. We will encourage you to develop your role in areas of interest and ensure you are provided both with time and training to expand your skills.
We are looking for someone who is naturally positive, who takes pride in their work and enjoys working as part of a team. Attention to detail, cleanliness, keen stockmanship with the ability of using farm management software A driving licence is essential for the role. Experience in AI and foot trimming is desirable, but this would not be limiting to a candidate with the right attitude.
A good package available for the right candidate depending on the level of skill and experience including appropriate time off to allow for work/life balance.
