Required for a 180 cow dairy unit near Biggar, South Lanarkshire. The herd is fully housed and calved AYR and milked through a 14:14 parlour.
The ideal candidate must be willing to get involved with all aspects of running the herd on a day to day basis with an emphasis on herd health and welfare.
This role is varied to allow the candidate to gain experience in herd management and doesn’t involve milking every day.
The candidate must be able to take responsibility and communicate fully with the owner and other members of staff. Experience with tractor/handlers, a full driving license and cow skills are required
Ongoing training, regular time off and a 2 bed house if required.
