Boreland of Colvend Farm, Dalbeatie
Dumfries Regional Farmer Meeting – Improving Calf Hygiene and Biosecurity
Good calf hygiene and biosecurity are fundamental to calf health, performance and the long-term productivity of dairy businesses – but where are the biggest opportunities for improvement?
Throughout 2026, the Biosecurity & Calf Hygiene Extension Package, led by Owen Farm Services, in partnership with Kersia and SRUC and the Digital Dairy Chain the project has been working directly with dairy farms across Scotland, carrying out on-farm assessments to better understand current practices, identify common challenges and explore practical opportunities to strengthen calf health and biosecurity.
This meeting is open to all - farmers, vets, advisers, and dairy industry professionals who want to hear what the project has found so far and consider how to translate these findings into practical improvements across the Scottish dairy sector.
Join Owen Farm Services, Connie Yates from Kersia UK and Mike Christian from SRUC/ Digital Dairy Chain, in partnership with Stewartry Vets, as we share what the project has identified from dairy farms across Scotland and explore practical ways to improve calf health, hygiene and biosecurity.
