Aimed at farmers and herdspeople.

Refreshments on arrival and sandwich lunch at the end are included.

What will it cover? The effects of housing and management on feed intake.

• The building e.g. feed fence, headrail, water troughs, silage push up, silage clamp face.

• The Cow e.g. rumen fill, rumination rate, time budget, feed sorting, condition score.

• The Diet e.g. feeding frequency, forage separator, manure sieving and compact feeding.

Cow Signals Master Trainer: Donald Brown, Lecturer in Agriculture at SRUC Barony Campus and has previously spent 27 years as a Ruminant Nutritionist for Keenan and BOCM Pauls (ForFarmers).

The cost of attending this meeting is funded via your levy. Please ensure you wear a clean pair of wellington boots and clothing for biosecurity reasons and out of respect for the host farm.
