Controlling digital dermatitis

Online
Join cattle mobility specialists Roger Blowey and Amy Gillespie in this webinar to learn how digital dermatitis can be reduced and controlled on your farm.

You will hear how knife disinfection can reduce transmission and about the impact of bought in stock. You’ll learn how to control the disease using appropriate footbath protocols and correct slurry management.

Bovine digital dermatitis is an infectious foot disease of cattle affecting many dairy herds worldwide. It’s a major welfare concern and can result in extra treatment costs, milk yield loss and reduced reproductive performance. It can spread quickly between individual animals and herds on different farms, which can be difficult to control once infection takes hold.

In this webinar you will learn:

  • How to correctly enforce biosecurity through knife disinfection and through mitigating the risks from buying in animals
  • Appropriate footbath protocols to control digital dermatitis
  • How slurry and housing can impact digital dermatitis

Who should attend?

Farmers interested in reducing and controlling the spread of digital dermatitis.

If you can’t make it to the live webinar, please still register, as it will be recorded and sent to you afterwards to watch in your own time.
