The 'Calf to Calving Campaign - Who’s made the grade? ' event is one of many events listed. View all events.
The Programme: Two years ago we launched the Calf to Calving Initiative to target more heifers calving by 24 months, review the economic performance of different rearing systems and address youngstock mortality. We now reach the final meeting and will report back on how the host’s farms heifers have performed and what they have learnt from being part of the programme along with:
How have the heifers measured up with growth targets over the two years and does this link to their health and Age at First Calving?
What are the key economic areas to target when heifer rearing?
What part can all of these things play in reducing youngstock mortality?
What should every farm do to ensure they rear healthy heifers to calve by 24 months?
Join us to discuss this with the host farm in your area and video input from hosts and attendees across the country.
Who should attend? Anyone on farm involved in or responsible for youngstock rearing or contract heifer rearers. (Attendance at previous meetings in the series is not essential)
