'Farming and Genetics - let's inspire the next generation' is the theme for this years British Cattle Breeders Conference...
The conference focus will be on practical cattle breeding whilst inspiring the next generation of cattle breeders. With the programme nearing completion we are pleased to announce an exciting line-up of speakers confirmed so far, including Prof. David Kenny, Alison Glasgow, Lars Nielsen, Heather Wildman, David Corrie-Close, Roger Hildreth, Dan Weigel, Dan Burling, Orla Kelly, Chris Proudfoot and Prof. John Duprè, all covering a variety of topics from fertility and profitable management within the suckler herd, genomics in beef and dairy, getting the next generation involved and genome editing of livestock.
The conference will start with a beef workshop on Monday afternoon. The main conference commences at 9.00am on Tuesday (23rd) with papers dedicated to the beef industry. There will be a dairy workshop running in a parallel session during the afternoon. The conference dinner that evening will celebrate the clubs 70th Anniversary. The final day of the conference on Wednesday (24th) will present papers dedicated to the dairy industry.
