Calf to Calving - Lameness - a disease of cows that start with your heifers?

Glasgoforest, Kinellar, Aberdeenshire, AB21 0SH

Join us to discuss how to assess and prevent lameness and foot health issues in pre calving and early lactation heifers. The day will include:

  • Latest research on heifer lameness – including when and if to trim heifers feet
  • Impact of lesions around calving
  • Economics of heifer rearing – do you know your rearing costs?
  • Check weights against target growth – discuss results from all partner farms

This is the seventh in the series of AHDB Dairy’s Calf to Calving (C2C) initiative meetings, sharing heifer best management practice from birth through to calving to help you reduce your rearing costs.

You are invited to join us at your local host C2C farm where we will be discussing the progress of the group of 10 calves we are tracking through their life cycle as they approach 18 months of age. All welcome to attend, you do not need to have attended previous C2C meetings.
