The 'Supply Chain Conference - Seizing your market opportunities' event is one of many events listed. View all events.
The AHDB Supply Chain Conference returns for the third year with the latest conference looking at how primary producers can take the most from market opportunities.
A packed programme of industry experts will look at post farm-gate opportunities, what is happening in the world food market, its relevance to UK producers, business management and the economics behind it, plus the skills and knowledge you will need to add value, diversify or further integrate with your supply chains.
The keynote address will be given by Sean Rickard, a respected, independent economist who has a reputation for professional, insightful and original analysis ranging from the economy to food and farming.
The conference is aimed at primary producers, growers or those who work in or are connected with the agricultural industry.
After brief careers as a musician and a graphic artist, Sean studied at the London School of Economics – specialising in the economics of industry – followed by post graduate study at Birkbeck College, London. He then embarked on a 20 year career as a professional economist culminating in the role of Chief Economist and Head of its Economics Group for the National Farmers’ Union, working at very senior levels with government and the European Commission.
In 1995, he joined the Economics Group of the Cranfield School of Management as a senior lecturer in business economics. At the same time he was retained as a government academic adviser and over the years have been involved in the production of a steady stream of economic and strategic reports for leading companies primarily in the area of food and farming.
