The 'Great Yorkshire Show' event is one of many events listed. View all events.
The Great Yorkshire Show is an iconic three-day event and one of the biggest agricultural events in the English calendar. Every year, more than 130,000 visitors and over 8,500 animals converge on the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate to compete, socialise and celebrate.
Fantastic competitions, stunning sunshine, a Royal visit and a wedding combined to make the 160th Great Yorkshire Show a special one in 2018, with 134,421 visitors attending over the three days, compared to 2017’s figures of 133,542.
There were also some firsts with soprano Lizzie Jones making history as the first singer to perform in the Main Ring, Yorkshire Film Archive footage of Shows spanning the decades ran on a big screen, and a life-size sculpture of the Craven Heifer was on display. The half tonne steel sculpture called GYSheifer was commissioned to celebrate 160 Shows and it now has a permanent home on the Showground.
The Great Yorkshire Show is a celebration of food, countryside and agriculture with something for everyone of every age while keeping farming at its heart.
